Projects Proceeding Positively

"I'll try to post about once a month on the blog!" I tell myself.

ree

Here we are... three months later.

Hahaha oops.

To be fair, I moved in July. That does not excuse June, but it does excuse July. Maybe. If we're being nice.

Mmm... I've been working on various projects. Hopping around to and fro, writing and roleplaying and game making. I don't have anything to show for my work, but I have been working. That's gotta get me some credit, right?

Oh yeah!

My novel's publication approaches. I've been able to post the first chapter and something in an anthology for advertisement, and I'll be publishing... it's looking like October. My editors have known I've wanted to publish in September since June. The due date was August/September since like April. And yet, it is only now they work on it.

Slackers.

(I can say that affectionately because I know them well. They can slack because they're doing it out of the goodness of their hearts, meaning I don't pay them.)

It's a really anxiety-inducing affair, honestly. Unicorn Valley is my baby. This is a story that I've had since before I could write. I had the idea and made concepts of it when I was small; I wrote my first completed draft at eight.

It's weird, knowing this will be out in the world. Exciting, sure, but... it's my baby. Editing has been very emotional for me.

My poetry is personal. My poetry does not get torn to shreds because poetry is, by its very nature, subjective. If e.e.cummings can get away with 'falling leaves' arranged fancily, my poetry is fine, thank you very much.

My poetry is personal. My poetry has many layers of metaphor. People interpret it however they damn well please, and thus my heart and my inner self are protected.

But my novel... the Unicorn Valley...

It's scary!

Anyway, those are my current big updates. You know I will DEFINITELY post here when it's published, and pop it up (with links) on the 'my writings' page of the site.

Honestly, I don't know if anyone will read this. I don't think anyone is following my blog. But it's a good habit to have a blog. Who knows? Maybe UV will take off.

I both want it to and hope it remains forever in obscurity.
